I've seen silicone used for just about everything in the kitchen as of late, but this is a new one for me: a silicone veggie steamer ($10.95). I would automatically think that this material is to soft and formable to hold your veggies about the waterline, but it walks the fine line an will mold to fit a small or medium sauce pan while maintaining its shape, not collapsing. And, of course, the reason everyone's switching to silicone-based products: it's heat-resistant to 650 degrees. (Plus it's really easy clean, but that's a side point.)
